Game Developers Conference, San Francisco, CA – March 7, 2007 – CCP Games, the world’s largest independent game developer, is announcing a plan for its two-year expansion of the company, adding 100 new employees to three locations internationally.
CCP Games is searching for producers, programmers, artists, animation directors, testers and sound designers for creative game development. The company will be hiring for positions in Atlanta, Georgia; Shanghai, China and is looking to enhance the team for its headquarters in Reykjavik, Iceland.
CCP’s international expansion reflects the rapid global uptake in online gaming. Recent research by MMOGChart.com, a leading MMOG analysis site, shows that there are more than 12 million MMOG subscribers worldwide, an increase of 20 percent in the last 18 months.
“As the popularity of online gaming increases, there is a need to enhance and augment game development teams to maintain cutting-edge graphics, sound and game play,” said Magnus Bergsson, chief marketing officer of CCP Games. “We will continue to expand our global reach, strengthening our international presence and continuing the development of leading-edge MMO gaming.”
